WCW Monday Nitro: Raven Promo: (11.3.97) - Raven in a classroom, comparing the cruelties of school to life in a general sense.
Raven Appearance: Saturn vs. Disco Inferno - Saturn bulls right past Disco's defenses and overwhelms his hapless opponent with a solid power game. Saturn is fixated with checking every move with his mentor at ringside. Disco is very resilient and hangs on as Saturn slowly takes him apart. Disco has to yank on the big guy's ear rings to gain a foothold! Even then he loses the initiative right away. Disco comes back one more time a little later but it is futile. Saturn uses the "Rings of Saturn" (reverse arm bar submission hold) to take the win and the Television Championship.
WCW Monday Nitro: Raven Appearance: Disco Inferno vs. Chris Jericho: (11.10.97) - These are both very talented young wrestlers - should be a good match. Disco will face Saturn in a rematch at WWIII. Disco attacks Chris right away and they engage in a brief slugfest before Jericho uses Disco's ring attire to tie him up. As the match goes on Raven and his "Flock" arrive. In the ring the match is a see-saw affair with Jericho holding most of the cards. He eventually gets his opponent into a Boston Crab and uncles him. As Disco is leaving the ring area he gets into an altercation with Billy Kidman. Sickboy vaults the railing and lands in a puddle of something, almost loses his balance. They and Saturn beat up on Disco until Scotty Riggs shows up to help. He is wearing an eyepatch (I assume because of the injury he suffered during his recent match with Raven). He threatens Raven but then backs off without hitting him. He seems confused...or mesmerized, maybe. Cut to commercial.
Raven Interview - Raven enters the ring as we return. Saturn follows him into the ring. Raven apologizes to Scotty Riggs for injuring his eye then he rants on his sad life story once again. He calls his Flock a collection of misfits, mutants, etc. then tells us that it is our fault that he is such a bad boy... Van Hammer shows up in androgenous attire and makeup with a ring through his left nipple.
Raven Appearance: Chris Benoit vs. Saturn - TV Title match - Saturn attacks outside the ring while the camera is focused elsewhere. In the ring, the match goes to an even fight - these two know each other. Benoit assumes command shortly in his inimitable human buzzsaw fashion. He continues to dominate until Saturn ties him up near the ropes and steals a pin. Kidman and Sick Boy hit the ring and are repelled. Chris puts the Crippler Crossface on Saturn...too late. Van Hammer climbs to the apron and distracts Benoit so that Fit Finley can appear out of nowhere and attack him! Finley piledrives the Canadian Crippler then leaves him to the tender mercies of the Flock, as Raven sits in the ring. Cut to commercial.
WCW Monday Nitro: Raven Appearance: Scotty Riggs vs. Saturn: (11.17.97) - TV Title match - Raven and Kidman accompany Saturn into the ring. They invite Riggs again to join the Flock. He says no way and the match gets going. These two are about the same size and so Saturn seems unable to do his usual overpowering thing. He dumps Riggs out of the ring to regain the advantage and then starts putting on the power moves. Riggs loses his eye-patch early in the match. When we see Riggs' eye it is milky white. Riggs still manages to come back and retakes the initiative. Saturn is dumped out to the floor and Riggs prepares for a planche...and throws it on the Flock!!! It is spectacular suicide dive which lands on Raven and company who are sitting ringside again. Saturn uses the distraction provided by Riggs concentration on Raven to incapacitate his opponent. Back in the ring he slaps on the "Rings of Saturn" - Riggs taps out. Raven enters the ring and seems to be trying to make contact with Riggs' soul as we cut to commercial.
WCW World War III: Raven Appearance: Disco Inferno vs. Saturn: (11.23.97) - Disco Inferno vs. Saturn - World TV Title match - Raven comes to the ring with Saturn and then sits in the corner and says "let the stretching begin..." Saturn is showing a little more emotion tonight. He downs his opponent twice and slaps his head - clearly he has no respect for the Disco Inferno. That proves to be a faulty attitude as Disco cleans his clock in the next encounter. Saturn rushes back in and is repelled. He stalls on the outside showing his frustration. Disco drags him in and tries to mount an offense but Saturn derails him with a clothesline. Now the match is see-saw with Disco gaining ground too slowly. Both these guys can wrestle and are about the same size (despite the announcers suggestion that Saturn much more powerful). Disco makes his first big mistake when he turns his attention to Billy Kidman at ringside. He is blindsided and dragged back into the ring. Still he continues to fight but Saturn rolls him over after a splash and puts the "Rings of Saturn" submission hold on for the win.
Sometime after this match, J.J. Dillon comes out announces that if Raven doesn't sign a contract with WCW within 24 hours, he will be banned from WCW events from now on.
Scotty Riggs vs. Raven - Riggs is still wearing the eye patch. Raven is introduced as being from "the Bowery". He jumps the railing and heads for the ring. Kidman has a mic and states the rules for the match, i.e. there are none. Riggs goes right to work attacking everybody in sight and overwhelms his opponent. For several minutes he dominates the Bird man. Raven uses his flannel shirt to choke Riggs and turns the tables. They go outside and Riggs resumes control with a body smash to the ringsteps. Back in the ring Saturn throws a chair into the ring. Raven uses it then sets it up for another move but Riggs reverses the field and smashes Raven's head into the seat. He puts two more heavy shots on his opponent by utilizing the furniture. Raven comes back with a DDT then asks for the mic. He invites Riggs to join his Flock then DDT's him again! He asks "why didn't you join me?" and DDT's him a third time. Riggs is not moving and cannot answer the ten count out. The Flock picks him up and leaves the ring area with his carcass!
WINNER: Raven via Submission
WCW Monday Nitro: Raven Contract Signing Segment: (11.24.97) - Mean Gene Okerlund, along with J.J. Dillon, approaches Raven at ringside with questions about whether or not he intends to sign a contract with WCW. Dillon says he received one delivered by courier but rewritten with various clauses and stipulations. Scotty Riggs shows up and joins the Flock as Raven stands by. Raven says he has signed the contract but will only appear under his own conditions, sit where he wants, wrestle when he wants and the way he wants (no DQ). The announcers are making a big deal about Riggs' presence next to Raven - Riggs looks properly mesmerized and brutish in his black eye patch. From now on, all of Raven's matches will be fouht under "Raven's Rules," which means he can set stipulations and conditions for every one of his matches.
Raven Appearance: Chris Benoit vs. Sick Boy - this was supposed to be Raven's match but he designated the youngster to be his substitute. The kid doesn't wrestle very well but he has incredible flying talent. He scores with a couple of major shots and then Benoit makes minced meat out of him. They tumble out to the floor and the newest unnanmed blonde member of what they are now calling "the Nest" decides to interfere. Benoit manages to get it back into the ring and takes control but then "the Nest" swarms and Benoit is creamed. Tony calls the group "the Flock" again at the end as we cut to commercial.
