WWF Metal/Jakked: Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer: (03.30.02) - This match comes about because of the events of WWF Smackdown on 3/28, where Raven defeated the rookie Maven to become the new WWF Hardcore Champion. During that match, Tommy Dreamer made a run-in with his own official to try and win the WWF Hardcore Championship for himself under the title's 24/7 rule [the title can be contested for at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week]. Raven prevailed anyway and took extreme umption at the fact Dreamer would try and steal his glory so this is a non-title grudge match to settle their differences in Allentown, PA.
Both men pace the ring as a resounding "ECW" chant stirs amongst the assembled crowd. Raven and Dreamer lock up, exchange counters and ends up in blows as Dreamer knocks Raven down, setting him up for a catapult into the corner turnbuckle. Dreamer sets up the catapult again, this time under the bottom rope, nearly decapitating Raven in the process. Dreamer then backs up and knocks the dazed street urchin over the top rope. Dreamer starts punching Raven on the apron, but Raven capitalizes, grabbing Dreamer and hurling him onto the crowd barricade. Raven tosses Dreamer back in the ring and mounts him with a series of punches to the head in a berserker rage until the official pulls him off the prone Dreamer. Raven sets Dreamer up against the ropes and lands 6 more blows before hurling Dreamer against the ropes and nailing him with a discus lariat. Raven waits for the dazed Dreamer to get up and nails him with a Mr. Wrestling II kneelift for a 2 count. Raven then snapmares Dreamer and positions himself in order to put Dreamer in an inverse Dragon sleeper. Dreamer breaks the hold only by backdropping Raven, injuring them both in the process. Dreamer recovers and tries to gore Raven in the corner, but Raven ducks and Dreamer eats turnbuckle post for his trouble. Both men get in the middle and start brawling with clubbing right hands. Dreamer knees Raven in the gut and charges against the rope to land a spinning neckbreaker with some force behind it. Dreamer then grabs Raven and plants him to the mat with a side Russian legsweep. Raven recovers still and Dreamer hits Raven with a running powerslam for his own 2 count. Raven gets Dreamer in a wrist lock, which Dreamer reverses into a side headlock and drills Raven with a DDT for another 2 count, which Raven breaks out of. Raven bounces against the ropes and hits Dreamer with a kick to the shoulder and rolls him up with a school-boy pin for a 2 count. Raven incensed grabs Dreamer and tries for his clothesline/bulldog combo. He splashes Dreamer in the corner and sets-up the bulldog, but Dreamer powers out of the headlock. Raven's momentum hurls him into the corner, bounces off and Dreamer capitalizes by hitting a running powerbomb for the upset win, but Raven retains the WWF Hardcore Championship.
WINNER: Tommy Dreamer via Pinfall (04:09)
WWF Smackdown: Raven Backstage Segment w/Jonathan Coachman: (03.28.02) - The camera goes backstage after a recap of Tough Enough rookie Maven being picked for the Draft by McMahon so he can bring the WWF Hardcore Division to WWF Smackdown. Raven is backstage sitting on a hockey net wearing a cossack and a black kilt and sporting white face paint to go with his platinum blonde and black braids. Coachman asks Raven how it feels to be drafted by RAW and his chance tonight to win the WWF Hardcore Title. Raven tells Coachman the following:
"Coach, who I wrestle for is less important than what I wrestle for; my first objective being the Hardcore Title. To quote Oscar Wilde, "They say we destroy the things we love, but really the things we love destroy us." Take Maven, for example. His passion has led to his success, but it will also prove to be his Waterloo, courtesy of what has come to be known as "The Raven Effect."
WWF Hardcore Championship: Raven vs. Maven: (03.28.02) - Tough Enough's Maven makes his way to the ring first with his WWF Hardcore Title. Raven then makes his entrance to his WWF: The Music Volume 5 entrance theme, "What About Me," pushing a grocery cart full of hardcore weaponry and a Frankenstein doll, stopping to do the Crucifix on the entrance ramp. Raven tosses all the weapons into the ring and Maven takes advantage, hitting Raven with a baseball slide dropkick as Raven throws a trashcan into the ring. Maven tosses Raven back into the ring and tries to splash him in the ring corner. Raven ducks and Maven hits nothing but turnbuckle post. Raven then grabs 2 trashcan lids and lays into Maven, nailing him over 7 times with both lids in the face, knocking the rookie down to a huge pop. Maven goes for 2 cheap shots, ramming Raven in his lower body, then clapping Raven's head between 2 trash cans like a cymbal. Maven bounces off the rope and clocks Raven with a lid 2 more times and riding Raven on a broom for the low blow. Maven goes after Raven again, but Raven tosses Maven over the top rope. Maven recover and hits Raven with a missile dropkick off the top rope. Maven covers Raven, but an interfering Tommy Dreamer pulls Maven off and clocks him with a cookie sheet. Maven recovers and hits Dreamer with a flying shouldertackle off the ropes, which allows Raven to capitalize and whip Maven into the ropes, laying him out witha drop toe hold on a chair. Raven picks Maven up and evenflows him with the Raven Effect DDT to win his 12th WWF Hardcore Championship!
WINNER and NEW WWF Hardcore Champion: Raven via pinfall (01:43)
WWF Monday Night RAW: Raven Appearance: WWF Talent Expansion Draft Selection: (03.25.02) - The WWF Talent Expansion Draft is a necessity that was brought about by the absorption by the World Wrestling Federation of the bulk of the wrestlers of World Championship Wrestling [WCW], Extreme Championship Wrestling [ECW] coupled with those wrestlers within the WWF's developmental territories of Ohio Valley Wrestling [OVW], IWA Puerto Rico and Heartland Wrestling Association [HWA], amongst others. Ric Flair and Vince McMahon, in order to justify their 50/50 split of the WWF will co-brand the company, which will have Flair controlling WWF RAW and McMahon controlling WWF Smackdown! As such, all of the WWF's contracted wrestlers are summoned to appear on WWF RAW, as well as any former WCW/ECW Alliance wrestlers who have been in the WWF developmental territories. Since Raven has been wrestling in HWA, he is one of the wrestlers who are shown in the back waiting for this unprecedented draft of talent by the WWF by the two WWF owners. Each wrestler chosen will appear exclusively on that owner's show, either WWF Smackdown or WWF Raw.
Throughout the majority of the show, they pan to an area backstage where every WWF wrestler is waiting for his spot to be called. Raven is pictured sitting on a table in the back, clad completely in black and sporting newly platinum blonde braids since last week in HWA. Flair and Vince each get 10 first round draft picks and then they go to a lottery for the second round. After each owner spends their first 10 picks [13 for Flair in actuality and 11 for Vince for the first 20 overall draft picks], they go to the lottery for second round drafts. In the second round, Raven is chosen as the 14th pick for Ric Flair's WWF RAW roster [out of 30], 28th overall in the WWF Talent Expansion Draft [out of 60], after Chris Jericho for Smackdown but before Ivory for Smackdown in the overall draft. In the RAW draft, he is chosen before Jeff Hardy and after Matt Hardy.
14th RAW Draft Pick/28th Overall Draft Pick: Raven
HWA Tag Team Championship: Raven and Hugh Morrus vs. Lance Cade and Steve Bradley: (3.15.02) - Hugh Morrus enters the ring wearing an old Pillman Show shirt. Raven and Hugh pull a dog-faced gremlin with Hugh playing Rick and chasing the heels out of the ring. Things then got started with Raven, who sends Bradley into the corner. Hugh then came in and tried a bodydrop but got a boot in the face instead, but quickly came back to land a powerslam. Raven and Cade are in after the heels had worn Raven down, with Raven getting the Irish whip into the corner. Cade charged him and missed. This led to Raven getting the early hot tag to Hugh, who cleaned house. Hugh splashed both guys in the corner and hit Bradley with his moonsault but Cade broke up the pin. Cade went after Hugh's leg, and worked away on that. Bradley was tagged in. Hugh finally found a chance to escape, but got a boot to the head instead. Cade then charged Raven, who was awaiting the tag. This didn't work for long, as Hugh finally made it to the corner and Raven went to work on both heels. Raven DDTed Bradley, but the count was broke up by Stevie Richards. Richards then hit his superkick on Raven, but that was only good enough for a two count. Raven hit another DDT on Bradley, but Richards pulled the ref out of the ring this time around. Bradley then hit his spinning-inverted neckbreaker [Note - a Twist of Fate] for the three and the tag titles.
